Calculator disclaimer

Last updated July 14, 2026

Use CountStruction for preliminary planning—not as authorization to build, purchase, bid, finance, or perform hazardous work.

Estimates are conditional

Results depend on the values, units, project shape, allowances, package sizes, formulas, and defaults shown. Real projects can need extra material for layout, cuts, breakage, defects, matching, minimum orders, inaccessible areas, testing, temporary work, and conditions the calculator does not model. Recheck every input and keep a field-verified takeoff.

Codes and professional review

Codes, permits, standards, manufacturer instructions, product approvals, utility rules, contracts, and site conditions vary and change. A calculator does not determine structural adequacy, electrical or mechanical design, fire safety, accessibility, drainage approval, or code compliance. Obtain permits and review by qualified licensed professionals and authorities whenever the work or local law requires it.

Safety

Construction can involve collapse, falls, excavation, utilities, electricity, gas, fire, hazardous materials, heavy equipment, and other serious risks. Follow current safety rules, locate utilities, use competent supervision and protective equipment, and stop when a condition is outside your training or authorization. For an emergency or suspected immediate hazard, contact the appropriate emergency service or authority—not this website.

Costs and products

Cost outputs are editable planning examples, not quotes. Prices, taxes, labor productivity, delivery, waste, financing, availability, and product specifications vary by date and location. Confirm the current product label, coverage, compatibility, package quantity, stock, and delivered price directly with suppliers and installers.

Report a problem

If a formula, source, instruction, or result appears wrong, do not rely on it. Preserve the exact inputs and units, then use the correction-report template. Review the calculation methodology for the site's intended validation process.
